Fall Forest Weekends at NY Botanical Garden
Nov 4-12
Experience the colors of the season in the New York Botanical Garden's Thain Family Forest, a 50-acre thicket that boasts sweet gums, whose star-shaped leaves turn red and purple as autumn progresses, and tulip trees and hickories that display vivid golden yellows. During this annual series, gratis guided tours will point out seasonal foliage and birds, as well as offer free canoe trips, courtesy of the Bronx River Alliance.

Hudson River Foliage Cruise
Weekends Oct 7 - Nov 11
Hop on board the Fall Foliage Cruise, and sail up the Hudson River where you can see the leaves at their finest. The boat takes off from Wall Street Port and sails up the tree-lined Hudson River, making a stop upstate at Croton-on-Hudson where you can all disembark and explore one of upstate New York’s most idyllic villages. Then hop back on board and return just in time to see the sunset over the city skyline.

Boasting an upgraded, new look, this year’s Market will include exciting new sections like Little Brooklyn and Urbanspace Provisions, a warming station, a kid’s craft studio by our partners at CMA, live music, and the best vendor selection in the Northeast. Union Square Holiday Market is a holiday destination for New Yorkers and tourists alike.

Macy’s Day Parade Balloon Inflation Eve
Nov 22
If you’re a New Yorker, you’ve watched the Macy’s Day Parade on T.V. just about every Thanksgiving. But if you and the kids will be sticking around in the Big Apple this holiday, why not go check out the balloon inflation in person! Every Thanksgiving Eve, Macy’s Day Parade organizers invite the public to come witness this year’s parade balloons being blown up for the big day! Inflation starts at 4:30 at the Museum of Natural History.

God’s Love We Deliver
Looking to give back this holiday season? You can join the big, vibrant family of volunteers at God’s Love We Deliver who help provide over 6,000 nutritious, individually tailored meals each week to clients who are suffering from life-altering illnesses. You can hit the streets, and assist in the delivery of meals to each of the five boroughs or lend a hand behind the scenes in one of the God’s Love kitchens. As the city prepares for Thanksgiving, there are more opportunities than ever to get involved and make sure that everyone has a meal to be thankful for. Looking for volunteers on Thanksgiving morning - Nov 23rd!
