Our process.

step by step.

If you've ever asked yourself, "What is a nanny agency?" or, "What are the benefits of using a nanny agency?" you've come to the best agency to guide you.
Our process is designed around clear communication between our family and yours.

Let's break down the process.

Getting to know you.

First, you may fill out the Family Contact Form above, and we will touch base as soon as possible. We want to make sure we are the best agency to meet your needs and make ourselves available to answer any questions you may have.
Once you decide to move forward, we will take care of the administrative tasks (service agreement signed, and $500 Initial Start Fee paid).  We will then have an in-take meeting (at our office in Brooklyn Heights or Grand Central, at your home, or via Skype or Facetime -- whatever works best for you). During our initial introductory meeting, we will discuss any and everything that will help us find the absolute best care for your family, such as education level, experience, salary, and any added perks or benefits your family will offer your future employee. We are here to guide and advise you as needed.

Now, it's in our hands.

Using the information provided during our initial meeting, we formulate and advertise a complete Job Description to attract candidates, and send you candidates who are in our vetted roster already. We seek to be as detailed as possible to attract only the best candidates for you. When qualified applicants apply, we interview them independently, verify their resumes and work history, and speak with their references. We get to know a feel for their personalities, philosophies, and what drives them in their career.

May I introduce you to . . .

Now it's time to introduce you to the best candidates. After our applicants have been thoroughly researched, we pass along a candidate profile. This profile will have his or her resume, details of our personal interview, comments from their references, and our personal impressions about why this person could be a great fit for you.
If you are interested in the candidate, we will schedule and confirm an interview for between you and the candidate. Typically your independent family interviews are held at your home, office, or a public space like a cafe, but they may also be held here in our office. After the interview is complete, both parties communicate their impressions to us, and we will either move on to the next step, or inform the candidate that the interview process is not moving forward. We continue this process until an appropriate caregiver has been found.

Trial period:  a must.

Once you've met the candidate you would like to proceed with, you can offer that person a paid, working trial, and we will run their official background checks. In this time, you can get a feel for how they mesh with your family, take directions, and catch on.  Typical trials are between 2-5 days, depending on how long a candidate has away from their current obligations; this may also be extended.

Let's make it official.

After the trial period has finished and the employment has been confirmed, we invoice for you for the final placement fee, and you pay the invoice in full. The start date is set, and the caregiver begins employment with your family! KITH & KIN will call to check in with both parties a couple of weeks to see how things are progressing.
