Mother’s Helper Nanny needed in Jamaica Queens by E,F trains  - Ref. #JQP1102

A loving, hands-on  Jamaica, Queens family of three is seeking a live-out nanny beginning ASAP. Their son is 18 months. The schedule is very flexible to be set for the right candidate; personality and fit is the priority for the nanny! For instance, they would prefer to have a nanny work Sunday-Thursday, or even M-F, or 4 full days a week, with some combination of part or full time hours, built around what the candidate needs. Hours would be guaranteed weekly, and set so that the nanny’s life and schedule can be reliable, if desired.

Family is looking for a long-term employee who can really become part of the family, as they are also friendly and warm, looking for a partner in raising their son. Their son is incredibly sweet, active and silly. He was born deaf and has cochlear implants and can hear now! He has weekly therapies and goes to school with other children who are hearing impaired. Mom and Dad both have demanding jobs, but this roll is mostly to support her, as she is home, so that she can accomplish her own self-care and some work at home.

The ideal nanny is someone who is genuinely caring; expressive, patient, silly, and ready to play and learn this family’s way! A great position for someone newer in their nanny career. Someone who can support his speech and comprehension with lots talking and reading is a must.  Nanny will be responsible for supportive care related to child including play time, reading, child’s laundry, meal preparation, transporting to and from school and activities via car service, making sure the cochlear implant is always functioning to help his hearing (will be shown), organizing activities, and chipping in with some light household tidying if Mom is taking the lead.


All candidates MUST meet these requirements…

-  be able to lift up to 35lbs.
-  have 2 years of experience in childcare, not necessarily as a nanny
-  2 years as a babysitter, with references
-  have a valid CPR/First Aid certification or obtain one
-  be legally authorized to work in the United States
-  submit to a background check
-  have a professional childcare resume
-  have three professional childcare references
-  have a warm, friendly, and expressive personality, able to take the reins with confidence, but step back when Mom is providing direct care.
- encourage independence, and be conversational and engaging
-  be cooperative and work together as a team, and give and receive new ideas and approaches
-  have impeccable communication skills, and understand the unique relationship of private care in someone’s home


Special consideration given to those candidates who know extensive baby signs, and are a licensed driver with a clean record. Salary is $18-22/hr gross (pre-tax), DOE, plus paid holidays, sick and vacation time.
